Zoo Visit 1/2

Today I fell in love, with the zoo. We've only been on one date, but it's looking pretty serious. The best news?! THE ZOO IS FREE. I think I'll (but actually definitely, I'm just trying to play it cool) be back. Behold the zoo in all it's splendor.

The walk to the zoo is full of super cute sidewalk cafes. Proof:

Bamboo on the sidewalk means the zoo is close!!!
Directly across from the zoo....almost there!!
I'm now in Asia. Can you believe they didn't stamp my passport? Crossing boarders is waaayyy to easy.
Who spys a bear? Turns out camouflage is legit, finding animals in a lot of the exhibits was intense, college did not prepare me for these challenges.

Hmmmm? What could this be in the telescope looking all sciency. Spoiler alert: It's panda sperm. Knowledge is power people.

I envy this guy, passed out in a pile of eucalyptus is totally the way to spend a day.

Toucan Sam, is that you? What did you do to end up behind bars?!

I barley escaped with my life.

Flashbacks to the escaped Brooklyn Zoo Peacock. I admit, my first response would not be more along the lines of judging whether or not the escaped creature could a)fit in my purse b)thrive in my bathtub before calling the bird house staff. Just keeping it real.

This duck could not figure out how to jump onto this platform of food for the life of him. I watched him for like fifteen minutes and the poor sir never got with the program. I hope he figures it out before Darwin gets him.

I love zebras, that is all.
This thing can go YEARS without water. YEARS. I went fifteen minutes without water once and boy did I complain.
Proof I was actually at a zoo.
Cheetahs are fast. I am not.

 They are in love!

I floss every night, can you tell?

More to come tomorrow. I took an embarrassing amount of pictures. I will be featured on Next Seasons True Life: I'm Overly Excited by Zoos. See you then. (To whet your whistle: There will be gorillas, jellyfish, reptiles and turtles a-plenty. SO EXCITE!!!)

Here's the old girl (aka me) trying to dismount the bald eagle I rode into the zoo.

  1. Oh! How exciting! Your zoo is free. Ours in Philadelphia is mucho dinero : ( I buy a membership for my kidgets every other year. I should buy one every year I guess. Sometimes I run out of money though. I love your zoo pics! Especially when you went to Asia without a passport. So cool.

I have no idea how much the zoo is here - I just moved back to Indiana - but I'm gonna find out. Thanks for a great Saturday afternoon excursion suggestion!
